Karo Syrup, White | 1 | cup | - |
Vanilla | 1 | tsp. | - |
Butter | 1 | stick (1/4 lb.) | melted |
Pecans | 1 | cup | chopped |
Chocolate Chips | 6 | oz. | - |
Pie Shells, 8 inch | 2 | ea. | unbaked |
# Mix sugar, eggs, syrup, and vanilla. Blend well.
# Add butter, nuts, and chocolate chips.
# Mix well.
# Pour into 2 pie shells.
# Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
# Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 40 minutes, or until set.
The pies will set as they cool, and can be served warm or cool. If you dig in too early, you'll end up with Derby Soup!
Derby Pie is great with whipped cream and/or ice cream.
